Summary You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH OFFICE of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY CRANE. Duties * You will identify mishap causes and hazards to implement remedial measures. * You will make recommendations to managers concerning safety program requirements, policies, and improvements to reduce mishap occurrences. * You will maintain the safety of employees using knowledge of occupational safety and health policies, directives, regulations, protocols and requirements. * You will coordinate investigations on mishaps resulting in lost time, injury, and property damage to report on discovered hazards. * You will brief management officials on status or updates of new safety and occupational health developments. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyze data on work operations, mishaps, and safety practices to prepare reports of findings that propose corrective measures for unsafe conditions and hazardous work practices; 2) Investigate mishaps, hazard reports, and unsafe or unhealthful working conditions to protect personnel and property; 3 Advise personnel of safety and occupational health measures to control or eliminate hazardous operating processes; and 4) Conduct safety and occupational health inspections and surveys to evaluate effectiveness of unit safety program.
