Job Details

Our client, located in Washington, D.C., is currently in need of a Secret cleared or clearable VMware Consulting Architect for a 6 month contract with potential for extensions. The consultant will work a mix of onsite (as needed) and remote in support of the Worldwide Telco Practice focused on federal clients and engagements. The consultant will travel in as needed with expenses covered.

Work Requirements:

  • Hands on solution design, integrating both technical and business concepts, and present a transformational journey to project stakeholders.
  • Carry activities such as: technical contribution and guidance in project planning, lead in high level and low-level design, solution validation, impact analysis of change requests, etc.
  • Leveraging technical skillset and help to quickly build trustworthy relationship with customer in pre-sales stages through technical workshops, RFX responses, PS solution customization, scoping exercises and LOE estimation etc.
  • Drive efficiency in delivery model.
  • Assist with refinement and optimization of customer lifecycle and VMware Telco Cloud portfolio.
  • Above all we drive successful business outcomes for our customers and provide valuable insight to our product teams.

Required Skills:

  • Strong client facing experience as a Consulting Architect or Solutions Engineer focused on VMware solutions
  • 5 years experience in architecting and designing data center automation and network function virtualization private cloud solutions.
  • Working experience with VMware Cloud Infrastructure - vSphere, ESXi, NSX-T, vCD, etc
  • Deep understanding of the telecommunications market, NFV/SDN context, standards, technology and use cases
  • Holds a VMware certification
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certification
  • Hands on familiarity with scripting using Python and troubleshooting approaches
  • Knowledge of cloud native application concepts
  • Active DoD Secret or higher clearance or willing to obtain a DoD clearance

Preferred or Nice to Have Skills:

  • Holds more than one VMware Advanced Professional certification or TOGAF certified
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Cloud Native technologies
  • Home office can be located anywhere in the Eastern time zone, mix of remote with a travel expectation of 50% for onsite client visits.
