Financial Counselor/Consumer Lender

Clearwater is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) credit union headquartered in Missoula that is growing to serve additional Western Montana communities. HRDC IX is a Community Action Agency headquartered in Bozeman that serves many Southwest Montana communities. They work to instill hope, develop resources, design solutions, and change lives. We are pleased to be accepting applications for a Financial Counselor/Consumer Lender, also known as our Financial Empowerment Partner, in Bozeman, Montana. This position is part of the consumer lending team and works out of the partnership organization’s location. They are responsible for delivering consumer products and services, providing financial counseling and education, and working to serve and empower low-income households through HRDC IX.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Work with and support partnership organizations
• Refer members to partnership organizations
• Provide financial education and information on Clearwater products and services to partnership organization’s customers
• Process and decision consumer loan applications within established guidelines
• Provide members with credit counseling
• Open, close, update and maintain member accounts
• Protect members and Credit Union from fraudulent activities
• Solve member account problems
• Refer products and services based on identified needs
• Communicate and share ideas for new products and services based on member needs

Qualifications

• Bilingual (English and Spanish) required
• Two to five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and to work effectively and efficiently with all levels of staff, members, and vendors
