Music teacher

Clearway School (a small, private special education school for learning-disabled middle and high school students) has an opening for a part-time, music teacher to teach music related electives classes in a special education setting starting August 26, 2024.

Responsibilities :

Teaching 6 music-related electives classes in the afternoon, three each day. The days of the week are flexible but need to be two days out of Mon, Tue and Wed.

Each class meets once a week for 45 minutes. You have the ability to develop your own classes. In the past vocals, guitar, music theory, and digital music have been student favorites.

You have access to guitars, a keyboard, microphones and speakers, as well as a desktop Mac computer, SoundTrap and Garageband for audio editing.

Class sizes are limited to 8 students.

• Help organize and attend two evening student performances each year, typically in January and June. Students will prepare their performances in classes.

Required Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Knowledge a wide variety of music including theory, instruments, and vocals.
