General Summary
The Department of Graduate Studies anticipates the hiring of graduate assistants for the Fall 2021 semester. Successful candidates must be prepared and qualified to assist departmental faculty based on the needs of the department. These roles can include Faculty Research, Athletics Department Support, Business Office Support, or general academic support
Applicants should create an application in PAYCOM and include an updated resume Graduate Assistant receives 50% scholarship tax-exempt tuition waiver.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Graduate Assistant -
Research Teaching Assistant Duties - Assist the Dean, or Department Head as needed in conducting research. Duties can include administering online survey research, literature reviews, data entry, statistical analysis, editing/proofing, formatting bibliographies, and other research related activities in support of department initiatives. When not occupied with a specific department head project or deadline, this position is available to support other departmental faculty research initiatives.
General Office Graduate Assistant - Assist Department Head as requested by department. Duties can include filing, making phone calls, preparing PowerPoint Presentations, scheduling meetings, answering the phone, front desk work.
Perform additional duties as requested by the Department Head, such as covering the office (only when student workers/Secretary are absent), greeting visitors, and supporting departmental events as required.

Qualifications
Must be a full-time graduate student at Cleary University. Must have effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, parents, faculty, staff, community partners and potential corporate sponsors. Must be highly motivated and be able to work independently and in a group setting. Must be comfortable with a flexible work schedule.
Skills Needed:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Power Point, and Word;
• Excellent communication and written skills;
• Good organization skills, the ability to anticipate projects and self-motivation;
• Willingness to collaborate with staff and various constituent groups;
• Ability to prioritize a workload;
• Ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines;
• Capable of working unsupervised and as part of a team;
• Exhibit a professional disposition on the phone and in person;
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with all aspects of position, and ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships and partnership
Additional Requirements
-Admission and enrollment in a Cleary University Graduate Program.
-Ability to work up to 20 hours per week is required.
-GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
-Maintenance of course work is required and reviewed each semester, and signed off by the Dean of Graduate & Professional Studies.

Anticipated start date:
September 1 or earlier depending on availability.
Work Hours:
