Essential Functions ...

  • Owns the performance of the materials department related to key metrics, including but not limited to: inventory turns, inventory accuracy, material usage variance, on-time delivery, purchase price variance, freight costs (including expedited freight), and expense spending (including packaging material).
  • Champions the optimization and utilization of the IFS system as input to the production scheduling (via MRP), purchasing, and materials management/control functions.
  • Promotes the utilization of LEAN tools such as Kanban, Visual Management, Point of Use storage, and other inventory accuracy control techniques to ensure material presentation is efficient, and material is always available to support production requirements while maintaining target inventory levels/turns.
  • Coordinates production scheduling including understanding of customer requirements while compared to available production lead times, capacity and schedule to ensure positive balance between Cleaver-Brooks sales and customer delivery expectations.
  • Responsible for ensuring clear, positive and professional communication with all customers in all formats (oral, written, etc.)
  • Responsible for inventory, including periodic cycle counts, identifying root cause and actions to eliminate possible variations.
  • Facilitates problem resolution related to IFS system for all functions of the organization.
  • Is accountable for, and provides direction on purchasing processes associated with production or production support expenses.
  • Provides leadership, coaching and development opportunities for Materials and Production Control team, including performance evaluation and identification of training opportunities.
  • Supports the budgeting process by assisting in development of sales forecasts, inventory projections and variance analysis.
  • Supports, promotes, and performs in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of Cleaver-Brooks, which includes following all company policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Do You Qualify ...

Education:

Undergraduate degree in engineering, business administration or relevant field required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Relevant ERP system knowledge, IFS expertise is a plus.
  • APICs Certification is a plus.
