Job Summary:

The Commissions Specialist at Cleaver-Brooks Sales & Service (CBSS) will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate commission calculations for the company. You will analyze data, develop reports, maintain records, and provide support to our sales representatives to ensure smooth commission processes. Your attention to detail and commitment to compliance will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze sales department data to identify monthly commission payout figures to commission-based sales representatives using company software in conjunction with Excel.
  • Ensure all commission calculations are correct and compliant with policy.
  • Develop and maintain reports to track sales department open, paid, and sales target jobs.
  • Conduct research on job cost, jobs open and closed data, and paid dates for commission calculations.
  • Provide accurate calculations for product lines and services.
  • Maintain monthly commission report details, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales department invoice transactions.
  • Navigate company systems to validate the accuracy of commission calculations and records.
  • Assist in the automation of commission and earnings analysis, data validation, as well as participate in exception-based manual calculation development.
  • Contribute to other relevant process improvement initiatives.
  • Process additional deductions and adjustments for sales representatives.
  • Provide timely support to sales representatives regarding inquiries related to commission payouts, deductions, and calculations.
  • Process changes to agent commission rates.
  • Supply the Corporate team with reporting on earned commissions as requested.
  • Complete reconciliations to ensure accuracy in commission payments.
  • Compile and distribute individual statements to sales representatives in a timely manner.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education Required:  Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a corporate environment.  Extensive office experience, notably in Payroll, AP, and/or AR will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in commission calculation and management.
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills.
  • Basic knowledge of company policies and government regulations related to commission calculations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with database management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to summarize large volumes of data in Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of organization and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
