Location:  Dallas, TX

Job Summary

We are looking to hire a hard-working and skilled fitter to fabricate, fit, and assemble Vessel / structural components of various new and refurbed boiler systems.

To be successful in this position you should be organize, detail-oriented, demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at interpreting blueprints, possess excellent mechanical skills, ample experience in welding, a good understanding of a quality production practices.

The top candidate should be able to safely use hand and power tools, measuring devices, lasers, grinders, bevelers, chop saws, break press, shears, roll motors, air horns, use of torch and plasma cutters, be able to cut transitions and radiuses, and ultimately make jigs to expedite processes for layout plate, pipe, frames, bases, vessels, seals, and doors.

You should also be able to collaborate with other workers to complete the projects on time with teamwork. 

Essential Functions  

  • Analyzing the blueprints for mechanical systems to determine the specifications of the components to be constructed.
  • Constructing structural components from raw materials.
  • Using welding equipment to fuse structural components.
  • Inspecting fabricated components to ensure that they are the correct size.
  • Utilizing shears, power saws, cutting torches, and chipper knives to cut structural components as needed.
  • The ability to use hand and power tools.
  • The ability to interpret blueprints for mechanical systems.
  • The ability to concentrate for extended periods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional welding and mechanical skills.
  • Adhere to company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Physical Skill and Effort  

  • Servant Leadership attitude – the purpose is to protect and train our people
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures
  • Availability to work various weekends and evenings as required by individual projects and jobsites
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

Working Conditions and Hazards  

  • This job operates in an industrial / construction environment and it is a physically demanding role.
  • Work easily and skillfully with hands,
  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds,
  • Have adequate vision (either naturally or with correction),
  • Work in elevated areas,
  • Work in confined spaces,
  • Climb and maintain balance on high ladders and scaffolds,
  • Stand, stoop, kneel, crouch and walk for periods of time

Do You Qualify

 

Education:  

  • Highschool diploma/GED

 Experience:  

  • This position requires at least three years’ experience in a similar industrial/technical position.
  • Driver’s License
