What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claims Team Lead position at Clements Worldwide?
We are seeking a Claims Supervisor aka Claims Team Lead, to serve the management of the Claims department and work very closely with the Senior Claims Manager. You will investigate, evaluate and resolve moderately complex claims for both Personal and Commercial Lines for Auto and Property Claims, along with guiding the claims team and organization of the department.
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- 5 years of experience in auto, property, casualty or general liability insurance claims processing
- 2 years experience supervising personnel in auto, property, casualty or general liability claims
- high proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- capability to complete 6-8 weeks of training in the DC office
- ability to be in the DC office 2-3 days a week after training is completed
- capability to communicate both verbally and in writing in fluent English
- legal authorization to work in the United States
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- conduct coverage analysis, investigations, and process auto and property claims with your team
- pursue subrogation recovery for simple to moderately complex claims
- manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Claims department, ensuring the timely and proper disposition of claims and payments; continuously seeking ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness to avoid a backlog of claims
- provide mentoring and guidance to Claims team staff as necessary to ensure accurate, complete, and timely claim settlements
- monitor claim outcomes through review and audit of performance and results.
- conduct claim reviews, audits, and quality control of claims files/payments to ensure accuracy
- respond to claim appeals and complaints promptly
- manage and monitor reserves regularly to ensure adequate balance.
- review Bordereaux reports for accuracy before submission
- provide and produce monthly loss runs and risk management dashboards, measurement of results, and any other claims related reports as requested
- develop, maintain, audit, implement departmental protocols, procedures, and claims processes
- manage staff schedules and attendance to ensure sufficient coverage during core business hours
- contribute to the development of departmental goals and objectives with the Senior Claims Manager as they relate to the Company’s strategic goals
- work with other departments across the company to ensure exceptional member experience
- consistently meet established departmental productivity, schedule adherence, targets, and quality standards
- provide peer to peer support, mentorship, and training to team members as needed
- serve as a subject matter expert
- stay abreast of current insurance products and services, case law, and court decisions, which may impact the claims function
- maintain claims databases and reports
Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- demonstrated ability to analyze financial and claims data
- high proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products
- strong leadership skills including effective coaching and employee development
- ability to foster a team environment
- proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally
- excellent customer service skills
- solid organization and prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage time to meet deadlines in a complex and very fast-paced environment
- powerful problem solving and analytical skills
It will be great if you also happen to have these qualifications:
- state adjuster license or Property and Casualty (P&C) license
