What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Claims Specialist position at Clements Worldwide?
We are seeking a Claims Specialist I also referred to as a Claims Adjuster, Claims Specialist, or Claims Handler to investigate, evaluate, and effectively resolve multi-line global claims from the first notice of loss to a successful resolution, achieving the best possible outcome. This is a remote position, with the first 6-8 weeks of training in the office, then will be fully remote.
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- 2 years experience within an insurance claims processing environment
- ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in fluent English
- legal authorization to work in the United States
We are glad you are still reading.
A little bit about some of the day-to-day in this role – you will obtain first notice of loss reports for auto and property claims. Process an average of 25 simple to moderately complex claims per day. Collaborate with fellow claims team members to promptly and effectively resolve global multi-line claims. Make decisions with delegated authority for first-party claims as outlined in company policies and procedures. Record and maintain appropriate documentation of claims status throughout the claims cycle. Conduct coverage analysis and investigations, draft claim history letters as applicable. Determine proper policy coverages, and where necessary, investigate and evaluate losses to determine responsibility; and/or negotiate to equitably settle total losses and pursue salvage recovery.
A little bit about how to succeed in this role:
- Establish appropriate reserves, adjusting them accordingly as the claim progresses
- Initiate follow-ups with clients, carriers, and underwriters, maintaining regular communication
It will be great if you also happen to have these qualifications:
- applicable state adjuster licenses, Life and Health (L & H) license or Property and Casualty (P & C)
- associates degree or higher
- bilingual in French or Spanish
As we all know, compensation isn’t just the salary. Here are some of the benefits of working at Clements:
- Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and prescription care
- Generous paid time off with unlimited rollover. Plus, you get an extra day off for your birthday!
- 3 mental health days
- 10 paid holidays
- 401K: 100% matching up to 5% with immediate vesting
- 100% paid parental leave
- "Dress for Your Day" dress code
- Education assistance: licenses, certifications, and continuing education
- Life insurance: 1.5 times your annual salary
- Short-term and long-term disability insurance
- Flexible Spending Accounts
