Head of Talent - U.S
To help us scale and hire the best & brightest people for our team at Cleo, we’re looking for an exceptional Head of Talent, based in the US to support and lead our US Talent function.

You will partner with the Head of Talent for UK & EU and our incoming VP of People, and will build your own team to help with hiring for all vacancies based in the US from junior level to VP level.

The US team currently has around 30 employees but this will double in 2022 and will continue to grow exponentially beyond 2022.

You’ll report directly to our incoming VP of People. Although we have some processes and tools in place, essentially you’ll be building our US Talent function from scratch with full autonomy, but with support from the existing UK team. 

This is a huge opportunity to step-up & scale-up. We have exciting plans for 2022 - we’re looking to grow hugely so this has potential to become a career-defining role.

The role

As Head of Talent you will own the strategy to create and lead the delivery of the Talent (growth) function for Cleo in the US:

This means:

  • You’ll be leading our Talent Acquisition strategy and guiding our team of US recruiters to manage the talent acquisition funnel - employer brand, talent pipelining and hiring process.
  • We will be building our first product squads in the US; made up of Engineers, Product Managers, Product Designers, UX writers, User Researchers, Data Analysts and Scientists. Your team will also work on hiring for our commercial and non-tech positions in the US too, including hiring for our Finance & Biz Ops team. 
  • Working with our Leadership team and key stakeholders to create a diversity and inclusion strategy
  • You’ll report weekly to the CEO and regularly update the Leadership team on hiring 
  • You’ll partner with our Employer Branding Lead in the UK, to continue to raise our employer profile in the US

You have experience leading a high-performing Talent team (ideally scaling a company from 30-150 employees with some international experience at a VC-backed business). 

You’ve successfully built and improved tech-focused employer brands and the last companies you worked at are known for attracting top talent. You’re passionate about growing teams and cultivating an inclusive culture where the best and brightest can thrive.

Experience in HR/People Partnering would also be beneficial.
