Material Planner

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate need for a Planner in the Supply Chain Management department at our Indiana Harbor facility.ThePlanner will be responsible for part and order specific expediting execution within the Indiana Harbor Manufacturing Planning group. Responsibilities for the position include the following:

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Maintains accountability for daily review, prioritization, and execution of part/order specific commercial and planning expedites needed to meet customer requirements.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Planning, Commercial, and Operations to ensure customer orders are brought through in time to meet commercial expediting requests.
• Support unit pre-outage inventory builds, at the part detail, by working with commercial to understand ever changing individual part supply and demands and using the expedite process to ensure coverage of the inventory build for individual parts.
• Learn and understand the layered planning processes to effectively respond to expedited situations, communicate with employees at the appropriate level of urgency, and use the systems to ensure execution of the expedited requirement.
• Possess the necessary combination of functional knowledge, consultative effectiveness, and business skills to be a true business partner; understands the short and long-term business implications and trade-offs of a change in customer or inventory priorities.
• Available to work weekends and holidays if needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to demonstrate analytical skills, troubleshooting and strategic thinking.
• Possess strong attention to detail and have excellent time management skills.
• Communication skills a must.
• Be reasonably proficient in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Operations.
• Production scheduling experience or experience in activities that have supported the scheduling activity.
• Quality background.
