What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Systems Analyst position at Cleveland Cliffs?
Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opening for a Financial Systems Analyst at our Burns Harbor location. The Financial Systems Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and administering financial systems and applications. The Analyst will utilize the combination of business and system knowledge to support financial process, analysis, and reporting objectives. This position will provide business support to troubleshoot, govern, improve, integrate, or replace the company’s financial systems and applications. The ideal Analyst is analytical and proactive demonstrating the ability and desire to improve individual performance and advance the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Review and coordinate system and process changes with both IT and business teams to ensure alignment and an accurate delivery of changes required.
- Service approved requests as required to administer financial systems and applications.
- Perform assigned activities as required to support month end close, forecasting and audit requests.
- Work with financial groups to identify opportunities and efficiencies to improve business processes and information availability.
- Oversee business improvement projects on our existing systems / processes. Ensure all new developments conform to standards. Coordinate activities with IT and business resources as needed.
- Assist in development of project scope, timelines, and risks for changes to supported applications.
- Develop documentation and train users on usage of existing or changing financial systems, databases, or applications.
- Coordinate the development / maintenance of standard financial procedures (related to the systems) and publish them to the user community.
- Implement and maintain appropriate internal control processes and documentation.
- Develop business intelligence tools, visual aids, reports, and dashboards to facilitate communication and control objectives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Accounting, Information Technology or equivalent.
- 2-5 years of industry experience.
- Strong computer skills and proficient in MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA / CMA / CPA
- Experience managing / implementing a financial reporting system or ERP.
- Experience in development of Power BI or automation solutions.
