Connecticut manufacturer of engineered industrial equipment is searching for an experienced machinist who can set up and run 3 axis CNC mills and 2 axis lathes. Must have the flexibility to run a multitude of machine types including manual lathes, mills and broachers. The work is machining engineered rotating equipment components and sub-assemblies according to supplied 2D and 3D models. This will include boring, turning, tapping and drilling stainless steel and carbon steel assemblies and components.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Demonstrated ability to write G Code and validate programs is required.
The machinist must have extensive experience programming, setting up and
running 3 and 4 axis CNC mills and lathes especially. Experience with manual
lathes helpful.
The machinist must be able to create a plan for tooling, fixtures and work
holding plan for new components or assemblies.
Candidates experienced in 5S, Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing
are strongly favored.
Candidate is expected to be safe, diligent and highly organized, keeping their
work area and machinery orderly and cleaned regularly.
Experience in low quantity runs, high mix environment is helpful. Prototype and
job shop experience helpful.
Experience with Fanuc, Mazak, Haas and Hurco controllers is helpful.
Experience with stainless steel and high nickel alloys is required.
Work in a team like manner with engineering, assembly and welding personnel
and vendors to complete subassemblies on time, according the quality/tolerance
standards listed on the engineering prints. Demonstrated attention to detail and
mechanical aptitude is required.
The machinist will be required to communicate regularly with the production
supervisor of needed maintenance or repair on machines. Daily inspection and
clean up of said machines is expected.
The machinist will also be expected to participate in a cross training program. To
provide regular updates on your progress. Team work and collaboration with
other employees is expected.
Must be a US Citizen. Must have no criminal background and be drug free.
