What are the responsibilities and job description for the PR Strategist position at Clever Real Estate?
Clever was founded 4 years ago to change how real estate is bought and sold. We connect home buyers and sellers with experienced, local real estate agents -- and help everyone out in the process!
Our success wouldn’t be possible without our amazing content and PR teams!
In fact, we generate the majority of our business from the content our team writes and promotes, and we’ve gone from fewer than 10,000 monthly sessions to more than 500,000 in the past year. As Clever continues to grow and develop, we’re excited for what’s ahead.
PR plays a pivotal role in expanding Clever’s mission of educating home buyers and sellers by creating and promoting original research about real estate, personal finance, business, and culture. We have successfully earned coverage of our content on Forbes, NBC, Yahoo Finance, Realtor.com, Politico, and Business Insider, among other prominent sites.
We know that people are our biggest advantage, and we’ll continue investing in our team members and their professional development. Headquartered in St. Louis, we offer remote work opportunities across the country (and even outside the U.S.). We’re committed to creating strong bonds and an inclusive culture for our team — both in the St. Louis headquarters and remotely.
The Role
The PR / Link Building Strategist’s job is to help “spread the word,” whether that’s a guest article about the latest real estate trends on MSN or a pitching a study about how COVID-19 has impacted retirees' finances to a journalist for the New York Times.
When our team of researchers produces a new study, Clever Real Estate’s PR Strategist supports our outreach campaigns to relevant news outlets, blogs, and other online media platforms. That means pitching hundreds of journalists and nurturing existing relationships.
The PR Strategist will curate outreach lists of relevant journalists from renowned websites using our toolbox of link-building software, such as Muck Rack and BuzzStream. They will then write persuasive, informative emails that encourage those journalists to cover our research.
This job requires persuasive email copywriting, meticulous attention to detail, strong multi-tasking skills, deep understanding of how to find the right audience, and a drive to improve and grow.
There’s a huge opportunity for growth in this role by taking ownership of outreach campaigns by developing plans for promoting research from start to finish, overseeing interns, or editing our freelancers’ content.
Your performance is measured by the number of media placements you earn, and there are a ton of new strategies and approaches to making our PR department a well-oiled, media-earning machine!
