As a Project Engineer in the Worldwide Safety Assurance team, you will be a part of keeping our Guest and Cast Members safe. You will use your engineering knowledge, project management skills and a risk-based approach to implement processes and drive projects that enhance safety and reduce risk within the Disney Experiences organization.

What You Will Do
On any given day, as a Project Engineer you might:
Technical
- Demonstrate your technical expertise to provide support and guidance to project team members.
- Ensure projects adhere to quality standards and regulations.
- Identify and help resolve technical issues that arise during projects.
- Drive the implementation of the safety technology globally, ensuring alignment with Disney's commitment to safety and innovation.
- Leverage technology to improve safety and Guest throughput, find new risks, streamline processes, and increase collaboration.
- Innovate new ways to deliver repeatable and scalable solutions that can be rolled out to multiple locations around the world and reduce costs of future implementations.
- Find opportunities for operational improvements to drive the connection between operational impacts to safety gaps or future enhancements.
- Partner with Standards teams across the segment to drive new or provide updates to existing Guiding Principles, Standards, and Business Practices.
- Keep a pulse on safety related trends and partner with others to drive future improvements.
- Implement projects by successfully managing risks associated with budget, schedule, and scope.
- Define project plans that include schedules, tasks, and responsible persons.
- Support new or existing process improvement initiatives from conception through implementation.
- Coordinate with key partners to schedule project work with minimal impact to the front-line operations.
- Lead contractors and sub-contractors as needed for design, fabrication, or installation scopes of work.
- Work with finance to maintain budgets and secure funding for projects.
- Detail oriented with ability to track and report on multiple competing priority projects
- Establish and maintain relationships with various lines of businesses and key project partners.
- Partner with end users and stakeholders to ensure projects meet the intended goals.
- Present periodic project updates to leadership
- 3 years’ engineering or technical project management experience showing increasing levels of responsibility.
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management scheduling methodologies including critical path analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, helping to settle conflicting requirements and priorities between parties.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; heavy emphasis on Excel
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to present to an executive audience.
- Smartsheet expertise particularly for project set-up, tracking and dashboard reporting
- Project management or engineering experience in the amusement industries
- Demonstrated understanding of machine learning, API and IoT systems integration
- Project management certification or coursework
- Bachelor's Degree
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
