Job Title: Pre-K Teacher
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Location: Clifton Park, NY
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pre-K Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for our young learners. As a Pre-K Teacher, you will be responsible for implementing a STEAM and play-based curriculum, using provided materials to engage children in meaningful and developmentally appropriate activities. You will also introduce children to sign language and Spanish, as well as support their literacy and math development.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement a STEAM and play-based curriculum using materials provided by the academy.
- Create a warm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that supports each child’s social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Introduce and teach basic sign language and Spanish to young children.
- Develop and execute lesson plans that promote early literacy and math skills.
- Use a variety of instructional methods and materials to engage children and support different learning styles.
- Observe and assess children’s progress, providing feedback and support to ensure their developmental milestones are met.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child’s progress and any concerns.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive educational experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and other required events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Early Childhood Education Teaching Certificate.
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a preschool or Pre-K setting.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and educational best practices.
- Ability to teach basic sign language and Spanish to young children.
- Strong literacy and math teaching skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
