Job Title: IT Manager
Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, At-Will
Reports to: Director of IT
Department: Operations
Location: California: South San Francisco, Tehachapi, Yuba City, Lancaster
Summary:
The IT Manager will oversee IT personnel and Race Communications daily operations within the IT department.
Qualifications and Experience:
Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship
Minimum of 18 years of age
Five or more years experience in IT services, technical support, or systems admin
Looking to move from a team lead role into a more managerial capacity or someone early in their managerial career
Experience successfully managing people
Expertise in IT systems, networks, operations, and cloud systems
Strong analytical and project coordination skills
Proven ability to design and communicate clear processes
Impeccable discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information
Experience managing technical contracts for an IT department
Ability to Travel up to 30%
Skills:
Proficient use of MS Office applications including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; teleconferencing applications
Functional use of common office equipment, computers, and office software
Strong time management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and workflow
Commitment to accuracy and high standards for quality of work
Ability to work with all levels of team members and management
Excellent problem resolution and customer service skills
Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead Technical Support: Optimize and make a positive employee support experience. Create smooth hand-offs between Tier 1, 2 and 3 support Work with the team to establish best practices and build processes to ensure execution
Excel at team management: Hires and develops our IT Team; scale the global team by having a team first mentality
Project Management: Ensures customer needs are satisfied through managing and coordinating specific information technology deliverables; including the overall program/project plan, structure, schedule, and staffing requirements
Own IT Systems: Owns and optimizes core tools and systems that power Race. (Cisco Meraki, Okta, Microsoft, and Jira)
Manages IT Service Levels (SLAs): has ownership of operational metrics, SLAs, industry benchmark and drives operational excellence for the department by managing business partner satisfaction by driving outbound engagement to understand satisfaction or challenges with the services provided
Partners with Security & Compliance: Drives core security and compliance projects to ensure we're protecting our information assets
Leads events and experiences: Connects the company by delivering the highest quality A/V experiences for both remote and in-person events
Excels at executive communication: Clearly communicates the state and strategy of Core IT Services & Operations to our executive leadership
Other duties as necessary may include but are not limited to:
Successfully complete assigned training and examinations, as well as participate in ongoing performance and development reviews, and goal setting
Be available to participate in internal or external meetings, special functions, and professional development opportunities
Cross-train and share knowledge with other team members
Support routine tasks
Maintain a professional appearance, hygiene, and demeanor
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Indirectly supervises and supports employees with Safety and Compliance matters within multiple departments
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
As this role develops, supervisory responsibilities may include direct supervision of subordinates, along with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
