All individual pay rates are calculated based on the candidate's experience and internal equity. Overview of Role: * This position is on-site for the first six (6) months as onboarding and training is based at our administration offices in Lafayette, Colorado. After orientation is complete, a hybrid remote schedule may be considered with the hiring manager.* Perform professional accounting and complex technical duties associated with the classifying, recording, and reporting of all grant-funded activity. The Grant Accountant maintains all accounting and financial records for various federal, state, regional, local, and/or privately funded grants. This position will provide support to grant sponsors and the grant writer throughout the life of each grant. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Maintains financial, bookkeeping, and account records for all federal, state, regional, local and privately-funded grant programs of the organization including preparation of journal entries and completion of timely reconciliations with the general ledger and grant program budgets. * Monitors grant program budgets monthly to ensure expenditures are recorded accurately and within budgeted range. * Completes or supports monthly, quarterly, or year-end financial reports for all grant programs, as required by the organization and grant funding agencies. Provides support for all grant audit requirements. * Assists the Controller, Director of Planning and Analysis, and the CFO in preparing operating and capital budgets for new or renewing grant programs. * Guides organization staff on grant regulations and use of grant funds. Answers questions and prepares special reports for organization use in budget tracking and reporting related to grants. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree required; accounting major preferred. * Minimum three years of experience in non-profit accounting with at least one year of grant accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit, healthcare setting. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Sensitivity to low income, ethnic minority community. * Bilingual Spanish desired, but not required. * Strong project management skills including the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results. * Must have experience with accounting and finance ERP systems (payables, receivables, general ledger, etc.); experience with Multiview, Adaptive Planning or UKG preferred. * Must have proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 365, Teams, and SharePoint.
