The Emergency Department Director of Nursing will report directly to the Sr. Director of Emergency Department and Critical Care. Supported by 2 Managers and several tenured charge nurses, this person will lead a fantastic team and busy department with over 50 FTEs.
The Emergency Department Director of Nursing will be in charge of overseeing that care provided by nurses is efficient and thorough. This involves keeping staff up to date with current best practices and making sure they are following guidelines set by the hospital. In addition, the position requires collaboration with the Senior Director of Emergency Department and Critical Care to achieve the highest level of operational and clinical efficiency that aligns with the hospital’s standards and values. The Director will also assist with budgetary efforts. The Emergency Department Director of Nursing will also have opportunities to develop their staff through education and quality improvement initiatives.
