A renowned community hospital is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Hospital Coding Specialist to join their team and this has the possibility of being a remote position!
The Hospital Coding Specialist will report directly to the HIM Manager. Supported by supervisors as well as a large team of EHR specialists, analysts, and Patient Account Representatives, this person will play a key role in the success of the HIM Department.
The Hospital Coding Specialist will play a crucial role in coding inpatient medical records. They must be able to collaborate with all levels of the facility to ensure opportunities and recommendations for appropriate coding. The Hospital Coding Specialist will be a change agent by monitoring and reporting any trends or discrepancies that arise. The ideal candidate will be coding specialist certified or have their RHIA or RHIT.
