Hospital Director of Laboratory

The Hospital Lab Director is responsible for: for planning, organizing and directing the overall operation of the Laboratory Department. Activities included are performance of chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic tests performed in the laboratory to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or Chemistry.
• Masters Degree Preferred.
• State of Florida Supervisory license in a minimum of 5 specialty areas preferred
• Minimum of three (3) years previous experience in aspects of outreach and laboratory services
• Must have experience with regulatory and accreditation of laboratory operations, preferably CLIA, CAP, and AABB
• Proven leadership and program development/supervisory (management) experience
• Interdisciplinary management and understanding essential
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Maintains current registration with the American Society for Clinical Pathology and/or equivalent accrediting agency
• Previous experience in the management of clinical laboratory of an acute care hospital
