The RN Manager Labor and Delivery will be supported by an Assistant Nurse Manager and will report directly to the Director of Women’s Services.
As the Nurse Manager Labor and Delivery, you will be responsible for overseeing administrative and clinical operations, aiding with development of department budgets, staffing and hiring, developing and implementing departmental procedures, and monitoring and evaluating staff performance. The Nurse Manager Labor and Delivery will be an experienced nursing leader with an acute care hospital Labor and Delivery Background.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Labor and Delivery nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence, compassion, and teamwork.
- Oversee daily operations of the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring efficient patient flow and adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement evidence-based practices and protocols.
- Assess staffing needs, schedule staff assignments, and facilitate staff development and education programs.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, analyzing data and implementing strategies to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for patients and families, promoting patient-centered care and communication.
