The Emergency and Med Surg Nurse Manager will report directly to the Director of Nursing. Supported by several tenured charge nurses and an Assistant Manager, this person will lead a fantastic team and busy department with over 40 FTEs. The Emergency and Med Surg Nurse Manager will be in charge of overseeing that care provided by nurses is efficient and thorough. This involves keeping staff up to date with current best practices and making sure they are following guidelines set by the hospital. In addition, the position requires collaboration with the Director of Nursing and other hospital managers to achieve the highest level of operational and clinical efficiency that aligns with the hospital’s standards and values. The Emergency and Med Surg Nurse Manager will also have opportunities to develop their staff through education and quality improvement initiatives.
