Looking for a meaningful career where you can make a difference in the lives of children? An incredible, Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program, part of a larger behavioral health system, is seeking a talented Pediatric Behavioral Health Clinician to join their team!
Located in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, this 25-acre facility offers a beautiful rural setting where you can help support youth aged 9 to 19. You'll have the opportunity to improve their mental health symptoms and help them develop social, emotional, and self-regulatory skills that will increase safe behavior, emotional stability, and enhance resilience. The youth’s sense of hope and permanency are critical clinical elements to support well-being.
As our new Pediatric Behavioral Health Clinician, you'll be responsible for providing and implementing the clinical therapy component of the overall treatment plan, managing cases of assigned clients, and carrying out the mission of our client as it relates to ongoing clinical assessment, evaluation, and progress of the youth within their program. You'll be assessing the clinical needs of the youth, developing treatment plans, making referrals to needed resources, and creating discharge plans for assigned clients.
To be successful in this role, you'll need to utilize evidenced-based practices that are appropriate to meet the clinical needs of the youth and family. You'll also need to collaborate with youth development specialists, education staff, health clinic staff, parent partners, youth advocates, families, and youth to provide comprehensive clinical care for the youth and to ensure program consistency and continuity throughout the day.
You'll also need to act as a liaison with placement agencies and community services, working closely with mental health and child protective services, as well as law enforcement agencies, schools, employers, health and welfare, and recreation agencies to provide coordinated care. Conferring with the Director of Education/teaching staff regarding child's behavioral or learning problems and recommending methods of modifying inappropriate behavior and encouraging learning experiences will also be a part of your responsibilities.
The ideal candidate for this position will have completed and cleared Livescan, criminal statement, and must undergo a one-hour training which reviews mandatory reporting requirements as per Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA). In addition, a valid driver's license is required for transporting youths. The candidate should have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and must be able to use various computer software, including Microsoft Office Suites. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Qualifications Required:
- Valid driver’s license is required for transporting youths
- Master's level education required
- LPCC, LCSW, or LMFT
- active California license
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains compliance with all local, County, State, and Federal government regulations to include Title 22, Division 6, and prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Maintains confidentiality in all matters within the organization with respect to personnel, operations and clients.
