Perinatal Clinical Nursing Specialist

The Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist will be a part of a 500 bed hospital that is dedicated to improving the health of the people in the surrounding communities. This hospital partners with local organizations across the region to give back to its community. This non-profit health system is Magnet designated for nursing excellence and is an accredited children’s hospital. The Perinatal CNS will lead evidence-based education methods to further training in nursing perinatal departments.

The Perinatal CNS will create effective strategies to create team bonding, learning, and good outcomes. The Perinatal Clinical Nursing Specialist will communicate frequently with Perinatal Nurses, Labor and Delivery Nurses, and Mother baby well nurses. The Perinatal Clinical Nursing Specialist will report directly to the Director of Nursing Practice.

Working to provide growth and education for nurses, the Clinical Nurse Specialist of Perinatal will recommend system interventions and will promote patient safety and care delivery. The Perinatal CNS will work with the nursing staff to further improve clinical care and serves as the clinical expert in complex cases.
