What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical RN position at Clinical Management Consultants?
A new opportunity for a Surgical RN is now available at a highly accredited acute care facility in New Mexico. This hospital is looking for a new team member to step right up and be apart of this highly specialized and professional medical team. Previous experience in a Women's and Children's, Labor and Delivery department is required for consideration at this time.
This 100 bed hospital has been serving their hospital for over 100 years. The L&D RN will join a medical center that believes it’s important to treat the patient wholly and provide spiritual care as well as medical. Reporting directly up to the Director of Nursing in the department, the Surgical RN nurse will also be working alongside a Manager, Supervisor, and 20 other staff nurses to ensure the highest of quality patient care.
The Surgical Services Department specialize in general surgery, orthopedics, etc., while providing the highest quality of patient care in the surroundings regions. The Surgical RN will be reporting directly up to the Manager of Surgical Services ensuring that the patient and surgeon are entirely prepared for each and every operation. They will work alongside 30 other Surgical Nurses to complete multiple preliminary and post operative tasks. Each OR will have multiple assigned nurses to assist with Manager of Surgery or Director of Surgery in each procedure.
Surgical RN carries much responsibility in the OR's and Surgical Services department. The responsibilities may include;

- Giving pre-procedure instructions to patients in easing any nerves or concerns
- Sterilizing OR sites pre-surgery and post-surgery
- Monitoring patients vital signs
- Ensuring post-surgical care runs smoothly and efficiently
- Changing patients dressings in preparation for surgery
- Educating patients, and family/friends on current state of patient
