Join our team! Laredo Medical Center’s Laredo Physician Associates is now looking for a dedicated FT Medical Assistant to be a part of our team. The Hospital is located in sunny Laredo, Texas, just 150 miles south of historic San Antonio. Read a full position description below.
Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:
Responsible for assisting provider with patient care and performing front duties as designated by provider and/or Office Manager. Responsible for making patient appointments and communicating information to patient and family. Assists with phlebotomy, special collections, EKG's and other duties assigned by director. Ensures the LMC values are reflected in all aspects of the department's operations. The Medical Asst Tech reports to the Director/Office manager, or charge nurse in the unit. Work direction related to patient care may come from the physician as well.
Applicant's Job Requirements Include:
Education
Required: Complete Medical Assistant training from an approved program or six (6) months patient care experience.
Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Experience
Preferred: Prior experience in medical office.
Preferred: Strong organizational and communication skills with analytical and problem solving skills, Medical terminology.
Licenses/Certifications
Required: CPR within 30 days of hire .
Preferred: Certified Medical Asst certificate
