JOB SUMMARY
The Pharmacist is responsible for reviewing protocols and understanding source documentation requirements for research, maintaining the integrity of any blinded study designs, handling and storage of drug supply, performing drug preparation, compounding, formulation, dispensing and administering doses during clinical trials as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review protocols and complete all required training in a timely manner
- Dispensing investigational product (IP) for clinical use
- Performing pharmacy / IP-related support services for clinical investigations
- Maintaining accountability records for movement of IP throughout a study
- Sourcing documentation appropriately and file accordingly upon completion
- Working with sponsors, business unit management, Principal Investigators, Sub Investigators, Clinicians, Project Managers and Study Coordinators
- Handling schedule I - V drugs according to Researcher License jurisdiction
- Preparing parenteral dosage forms (IV, IM and SC) as well as enteral dosage forms (oral solids, liquids, nasal formulations, etc.); compounding or reconstitution as needed
- Writing and reviewing operating procedures
- Training site staff as Pharmacist Technician for delegation of some responsibilities
- Training CRU staff and/or subjects on handling of investigational products or devices
- Other duties as assigned
Hourly Salary for this position is up to $62/hr.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or PharmD, and hold active Pharmacist License/Registration within practicing State Board of Pharmacy
- Must have in depth knowledge of USP, GLP, GMP, GCP and ICH guidelines
- Must be able to work independently and have excellent communication skills
