Job Overview:
The Accountant I will manage purchasing duties, reconcile licenses, and perform general accounting tasks. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Handle purchasing duties, including vendor relations, order placement, and invoice processing.
- Reconcile licenses to ensure compliance and accurate billing.
- Maintain accurate financial records for purchases and licenses.
- Perform general accounting functions such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Perform analysis on financial information to ensure its accuracy
- Prepare various schedules to support the financial information presented
- Analyze financial data and provide insights for cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support the Controller with financial analysis and special projects as needed.
- Assist external auditors with year-end audit and execute internal audit programs
- Provide financial reports to management and answer inquiries as necessary, coordinate and follow through with the month-end closing schedule
- Perform analysis on financial information to ensure its accuracy and prepare various schedules to support the financial information presented
- Assist in preparation of monthly tax return forms
- Act as backup for Accounts Payable
- Prepare ad hoc financial reporting requests, other analyses, and special projects, as needed.

Skills needed to be successful
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong familiarity with financial statements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Solid knowledge of standard accounting procedures
- Demonstrably excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects at a time in a dynamic, deadline driven environment
- Proficient in tax and accounting research
Required Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-3 years of general accounting experience
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in tax and accounting research
Preferred Experience & Education
- Master’s Degree Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent
- Experience in Software industry
- Experience with NetSuite
- Proficiency with Power BI

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position who is generally within the range of $50,300 to $65,300 for annual base salary. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds with assistance as part of office routine.
- Travel may be required.
