What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP of Product position at Clio?

We are currently seeking a VP of Product to join our senior leadership team. This role is available to candidates across Canada, excluding Quebec.
As the VP of Product, you will lead Clio’s efforts to build, grow and support a Product organization that’s obsessed with delivering value to our customers while ensuring Clio’s strategic goals are met. Working closely with senior leadership to team across the company to set our Product Strategy, roll it out to the organization and execute against our most important goals.
What you’ll work on:
- Scaling a high-performing and mission-driven Product Management team. Building, hiring, coaching, developing and retaining the PM leadership of today and the future at Clio.
- Work collaboratively with and as a member of our senior leadership team across the company to set our our Product Strategy, roll it out to team clio and execute against our most important goals.
- Working with company executive leadership to develop, understand, prioritize, and catalyze Product objectives and strategic initiatives - both in support of our long-term vision and short-term plans.
- Set the roadmap for Clio’s product that takes the business’ current and future needs into account;
- Partnering with Product Design and Engineering to develop and execute the product roadmap;
- Ensuring that the entire company understands the vision and direction for the product by building understanding and alignment across the organization around what we’re prioritizing in Product (and what we’re not);
- Contribute to Clio’s broader strategic planning process;
- Be a champion for the product organization (and the broader RnD group) to the rest of the company and help ensure that clear communication flows in both directions.
What you may have:
- Experience building a high performing team
- A portfolio of successes (and failures) to show. Experience not just shipping product but launching and iterating on solutions to customer problems.
- Demonstrated ability to track industry trends in your space and apply it to your solutions
- A toolbelt full of different frameworks or approaches to coaching teams on how to solve complex problems.
- Diverse approach to problem-solving, prioritization, buy vs build, and organizational structures.
- Humility plus strong opinions that are loosely held.
