Educational Outreach Coordinator
Company Overview Close Up is the nations leading nonprofit, nonpartisan civic education organization dedicated to helping students become more informed and engaged citizens.
To fulfill this mission, Close Up works with more than 20,000 students and teachers each year through experiential programs in Washington, DC, New York, and various other communities and historical sites, bringing them face to face with their elected officials, policy experts, and peers from across the country.
Position Overview Outreach coordinators are energetic individuals tasked with building a network and relationships with educators and community leaders to increase participation in Close Ups Washington, DC-based programs.
You will operate within a defined territory to forge connections with school districts and community organizations, working via phone, virtual, and in-person meetings to achieved planned participation goals.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential to this position, as youll regularly compose emails and speak on behalf of Close Up.
Each day brings something new, and training is provided to ensure you succeed in profoundly impacting young people across the country.
This is currently a hybrid position, based out of Close Ups Arlington, VA, office with flexibility to work from home two days a week, but this may change based on Foundation needs.
Responsibilities
- Actively manage and grow a dedicated territory that includes a large, preexisting network of customers.
- Prospect and identify new schools and organizations through a variety of generation activities, including emails, cold calls, and in-person meetings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and new accounts.
- Maintain a deep understanding of Close Up and our offerings through interdepartmental communication and training.
- Achieve and exceed annual objectives and quotas.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience in sales, education, or nonprofit work
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (a writing sample may be required)
- Exceptional relationship-building skills, both internally and externally
- A motivated self-starter who displays a high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative
- Willingness to travel for meetings, trainings, and conferences
- Authorization to work in the United States for any employer
