DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent’s main responsibility will be to operate tool room machinery to construct from prints and sketches parts for molds, dies and machinery at a productive pace.
Additional primary responsibilities will include following proper operating procedures to operate and make setups in the Lathe, Mill, Grinder, Drill Press, Hone, Saws, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications.
The incumbent will be responsible for studying specifications, such as prints, sketches or verbal descriptions and visualizes product to determine machines to be used to fabricate parts.
The incumbent will be responsible for verifying dimensions, fits, clearances and finishes, using measuring instruments, and will document these measurements throughout the machining process.
The incumbent will be responsible for assembling mold and die components. Will also be analyzing molds and dies for wear or damage, and will apply skills and knowledge to make the proper repairs.
The incumbent may be needed to connect wiring and hydraulic lines to install electrical and hydraulic components.
The incumbent is responsible for understanding and following all EHS procedures. Must be aware of all hazardous materials used in your area, and preventing unnecessary generation of waste materials. Will be responsible for being aware of and to understand what to do in case of an emergency involving hazardous materials and chemicals.
The incumbent helps provide a safe work place by assisting in developing, promoting and following practices which prevent injury and meet legal safety requirements.
Follow all food safety guidelines while on the manufacturing floor.
Report any deviation from food safety protocol to the functional responsible personnel.
Complies with all OPEX (Operational Excellence) policies, procedures, and guidelines required of them in their current role; completes all required training, audits, and compliance tools.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent GED and technical training in metal working and shop safety
- Knowledge of trigonometry and geometry preferred but not required
- Must have great analytical and problem solving skills
- Must be able to use measuring instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, height gage and optical comparator
- Must have good organization skills and detail orientation
- Must have good communication and motivational skill.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Detailed work which requires close visual attention.
2. Ability to lift and carry, push and pull 75 lbs. maximum
3. Ability to stoop, reach below waist and overhead
4. Ability to ascend/ descend stairs and ladders.
5. Frequent requirements of eye-hand coordination
6. High degree of dexterity.
