Position: ArcGIS Analysts/Engineers
Duration: 6 Months Contract to Hire
Location: Phoenix, AZ or New Mexico City
Client needs candidate to assist them with 5 open spots on the GIS Team, : As a mining company, the majority of their data has a spatial element. Whether it is the location of ore reserves or the movement/placement of that material in a new location, the importance of managing our geospatial data is critical to the success of many active innovation projects. Their ability to truly leverage existing geospatial data is limited by the niche nature of mining solutions as well as the lack of field instrumentation. The successful candidate for the ArcGIS Analysts/Engineers role would play a key part in breaking down these barriers and allowing Freeport to fully understand and improve their mining operations.
Able to work from home <40% of the time
Collaborate with team members at Phoenix office <50% of the time
Be on-site at a mine to converse with users, conduct UAT or deploy <25% of the time
4 roles: candidates need to be based out of either Arizona or New Mexico
Interview process: 1-virtual interview (30-45 minutes)
Top 3 skills
Minimum of 4 years of GIS experience
Proven experience inputting, editing, manipulating, managing, analyzing and outputting of spatial and tabular data sets
Smart, fun personality open to traveling to one of the these three sites: Morenci, AZ, Safford, AZ and Chino, NM. Current team & reason for need: Building team from scratch (previously leveraged support from McKinsey and looking to bring skills in house);
Assist in management of GIS data or the maintenance of data quality assurance and quality control standards
Performs moderate to complex GIS analytical and geoprocessing functions, including input, editing, manipulation, management, analysis and output of spatial and tabular data sets Develops, plans, and implements complex GIS analysis tools for the system users and operators
Participates in the development, maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the governance of GIS information
Mining degree; Oil & gas background ideal
Salary : $50 - $75
