Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and talented Senior Okta Engineer. As a Senior Okta Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining identity and access management solutions using Okta Classic and Okta Integration Engine (OIE) versions based on customer needs. This role requires a deep understanding of Okta's capabilities, strong technical expertise, and a track record of success in the consulting space.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement end-to-end Okta solutions, including user lifecycle management, single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and provisioning/deprovisioning workflows.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in Okta Classic and OIE, providing guidance and technical leadership to clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, architect solutions, and develop project plans.
- Configure and customize Okta components, such as user attributes, policies, access controls, and integrations with third-party systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Okta implementations, ensuring optimal system performance and user experience.
- Conduct thorough testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing, to validate the stability and scalability of Okta solutions.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to clients and internal teams on Okta best practices, functionality, and administration.
- Stay up to date with the latest Okta product releases, security patches, and industry trends to proactively recommend improvements and enhancements to existing systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, security analysts, and project managers, to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience working with Okta Classic and OIE versions in a consulting capacity.
- Strong understanding of identity and access management concepts, protocols, and standards (e.g., SAML, OAuth, LDAP).
- Proficiency in configuring and customizing Okta components, including user provisioning, SSO, MFA, and access policies.
- Experience integrating Okta with enterprise applications, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Salesforce, and other SaaS platforms.
- Solid understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security controls within Okta solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and internal teams.
- Okta certifications, such as Okta Certified Professional or Okta Certified Administrator, are highly desirable.
