Middle School 504 Coordinator
Reports To: Principal
Job Summary:
The job of the 504 Coordinator was established for the purpose/s of supporting the identification, development, and implementation of services and supports for students who are eligible under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act in accordance with applicable school, district, state regulations and serving as resource to school personnel by providing support and guidance based on subject area knowledge and experience.
Essential Functions:
-Serve students and staff at Oakridge Middle School and Clover Middle School
-Work with Student Support Teams and teachers to identify students who may be eligible under Section 504
-Create and ensure implementation of 504 plans
-Stay informed about developments in both educational interventions and legal requirements for students with disabilities under Section 504 and provide training to other staff in these areas
-Ensure staff understand their responsibilities under Section 504
-Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Knowledge:
-Experience in writing 504 Eligibility and Accommodations Plans
-Knowledge of current laws, regulations, and guidelines related to disability discrimination in public schools
-Ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information
Terms of Employment:
-190 days per school year
