We are Looking for:
A Medical Assistant Team Lead who has a key role within a healthcare facility or medical practice, responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of a team of medical assistants. Their primary objective is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the medical assistant team, as well as to support healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
1. Team Supervision:
- Lead, guide, and mentor a team of medical assistants.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and workload.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and performance appraisals.
2. Patient Care:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments as needed.
- Ensure that patient intake, assessments, and vital sign recordings are accurate and timely.
- Maintain a patient-centered approach, addressing patient concerns and providing emotional support when necessary.
3. Training and Development:
- Provide training to new medical assistants.
- Conduct ongoing training sessions to keep the team updated on best practices, new protocols, and changes in regulations.
- Identify opportunities for professional development and growth among team members.
4. Coordination:
- Coordinate with other healthcare staff, such as nurses, physicians, and administrative personnel, to optimize patient flow and care coordination.
5. Inventory and Supplies:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of medical supplies and equipment.
- Place orders for necessary supplies, ensuring that the team has the required resources to perform their duties.
6. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that the team follows established protocols and standards of care.
- Conduct regular audits and quality assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
7. Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and organizational policies.
- Oversee the accurate and timely documentation of patient records and procedures performed.
8. Emergency Response:
- Assist in responding to medical emergencies and implementing emergency protocols when necessary.
Education and Skills
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred.
- Five years experience as a medical assistant with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
