What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outbound Logistics Tech 2 position at Club Car LLC?
Position Summary:
- Support Logistics shipping team, Customer Service Representatives, Aftermarket Logistics and outbound carriers. Process and invoice all Aftermarket Parts orders daily and insure all charges are applied appropriately. Prepare detailed commercial invoices and documentation for international shipments.
Responsibilities:
- Determine freight cost using TMS (Transportation Management System) and other pre-established guidelines and apply charges to each shipment as required.
- Optimize TMS to maximize LTL consolidation and reduce outbound freight costs. Research and evaluate freight charges for management team.
- Primary contact for LTL, FTL and parcel in resolving outbound shipping discrepancies.
- Research any invoicing discrepancies and makes necessary corrections.
- Investigate discrepancies with orders on behalf of the shipping team, i.e. invalid shipping methods, address inconsistencies, and parts corrections.
- Confirms shipping information by answering and relaying telephone, fax and email inquiries.
- Files customer backup and shipping documents for all orders shipped per guidelines.
- Process ( invoice ) all Aftermarket parts orders
- Participate in audits of invoicing and record retention by providing back up and necessary documents.
- Coordinate the shipment of Containers and arrange with outside carriers for the pickup and delivery of material via ocean and air shipping.
- Prepare international parcel shipping labels for UPS, Fed-Ex and DHL.
- Prepare international documents required for shipment
- Coordinates customs clearance with brokers and Ingersoll Rand International.
- Use Oracle web based system to complete European invoicing and customs documents. Manually process some invoices for IRI clients.
- Generate and distribute country specific export shipping documents such as commercial invoices, shipper’s letter of instruction and export declarations.
- Process and provide documentation for hazardous materials shipping out of the US.
- Ensures compliance with DOT Hazardous Material shipments regulations.
- Coordinates the shipment of parts orders with Club Car transportation department for new car container consolidations.
- Provide tracking information and freight quotes to Customer Service Representatives.
- Provide copies of packing slips and back up docs to CSR’s daily as requested.
- Determines best method of shipment in accordance with customer request.
- Utilize customer’s preferred shipping method by inputting data into specific web based programs for strategic accounts.
- Schedule truckload quantity orders and prepare shipping documentation.
- Process customer cancellations and restocking of material.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 2 years related experience
- Clear understanding of concepts that affect transportation costs, transmit time requirements, freight handling characteristics, etc.
- Previous experience in international logistics preferred
- Knowledge of logistics, transportation management, distribution management, etc.
- Demonstrated problem solving ability
- Excellent teaming or relationship building skills, etc.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, and Power Point, etc.
- Will be required to obtain HAZMAT certifications related to shipping.
