The Electronic Test Technician is responsible for ensuring quality designs through comprehensive requirement testing and validation of electrical systems. In this test technician roll, individuals will have the authority, support, and autonomy to execute the vision as well as establishing themselves as high-respected contributors.
The position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of different components, subsystems and vehicles. The position requires the technical expertise to develop and lead product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality and reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards, and conduct projects in accordance with engineering excellence.
Core Responsibilities:
· Manage multiple test requests and priorities with specific goals autonomously
· Effectively self-manage large projects
· Interact with internal and external customers as required
· Introduce new technologies, techniques and processes to the Validation department
· Understand the products and provide feedback on ways they can be improved
· Helps develop technical judgment of others within the department
MINIMUM YEARS OF ELECTRICAL TEST/DESIGN EXPERIENCE NECESSARY: 3-5 years
Education and/or Experience Required:
· Associates Degree in “Electrical Engineering Technology”, ”Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology”, or related electrical education is desired.
Essential Skills or Knowledge:
· Strong interest in DAQ (Data Acquisition) equipment and testing methodologies
· Experience trouble shooting/repairing electronic systems, cabling and electronic equipment
· Experience using standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, counters, multimeters etc)
· Experience installing and updating electronic components, systems
· High and/or low level programing experience desirable
· Experience or interest in Problem solving (9-step, 8D, etc.)
· Competency in Microsoft products including, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint required
· Ability to work as a member of a team
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong technical, analytical, and problem solving skills
· Must be tenacious with quality and customer service orientation
· Knowledge of the appropriate product safety and testing standards
