Job Summary:

The Golf Course Superintendent of The Hills Course will work closely with the Director of Golf Course Maintenance for the planning and implementation of the AG Plan, budget, capital projects, employee retention, hiring, training, record keeping, cultural practices, communication with the leadership team, striving each day to make the Club better than the day before. 

Since 1988, The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch have been a home for the McKinney community to gather, connect, grow, and enjoy some of life's most cherished moments. What started as The Flying M Ranch developed into one of North Texas' premier golf and country club communities. With two championship courses by renowned course architects Pete Dye and Arthur Hills featuring 45 holes of golf, two distinctive clubhouses, and the title of “Best Country Club/Value-Priced Category” from 2023 Avid Golfer magazine, The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch truly set the standard for private club life. 

Designed to appeal to experienced and novice golfers alike, our world-class golf course features lush greens and picturesque backdrops. The greens test your short game, while water hazards throughout the course require precise drives. The Arthur Hills Signature Course is 27 holes of pure golf in McKinney and with a new fully equipped pro shop, it's a true golfer's paradise. In addition to 27 holes, we have a comprehensive practice facility to work on your on-course strategy. A robust calendar of tournaments, events, and leagues will keep you connected with our community of golf-loving members. The current renovation of holes 10 - 18 and the large putting green are in progress with the front nine scheduled for 2025 working with Lanny Wadkins Design. 

Day-to-Day:

• Train and implement procedures for Golf Course Maintenance Staff.
• Perform Chemical and Fertilizer applications.
• Conduct performance evaluations of Golf Course Maintenance staff and crew as directed on a timely basis.
• Provide appropriate feedback to staff, and recommendations to Senior Management regarding compensation, advancement, and training needs.
• Determine appropriate personnel action (counseling, written warnings, suspension, or termination) in the event of performance, attendance problems, or violations of company policies and coordinate with Human Resources, Legal, and Senior Management as necessary.
• Assign and develop work-efficient schedules to meet the staffing needs of Golf Operations and as warranted, recruit and hire staff to provide superior level of member services.
• Develop relationships with Members to promote golf activities.
• Effective communication with staff, members, and Senior Management. 

About You:

• 3 - 5 years experience in Golf Course Maintenance management as an Assistant or Superintendent of a course.
• A 2 or 4-year turfgrass degree is required.
• Experience with heavy soils.
• Overseeding experience required.
• Pesticide Applicators License.
• Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements and recordkeeping as required by local, state, and federal laws.
• Team player able to foster relationships with Members, Employees, and guests.
• Bilingual (English - Spanish) communication ability preferred.
