Summary of Position: Project Manager
CMA is seeking Project Managers to serve as a client’s representative overseeing various construction projects from conception through completion in Newark, New Jersey, and the surrounding boroughs.
Compensation will be commensurable with the applicant’s experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide the administration and coordination of activities for the design and construction of complex and highly visible construction and modernization projects and their clients
- Make decisions on phasing and scheduling of projects. Prepare and/or ensure preparation of schedules for planning, design and construction. Monitor schedules and take appropriate actions to ensure that project is completed on schedule and within approved cost limitations
- Provide ongoing interface with contractors, construction managers/superintendents, architects and engineers; routinely interact with client senior managers by giving status updates and conducting walk-throughs
- Participate in the development and issuance of project procedures and policies; review and make recommendations on client wide procedures and policies
- Work with architect/engineer of record regarding change orders, interpretation of contract documents, shop drawing submittals/approvals and other technical matters as required to ensure a structurally sound, code compliant and aesthetic facility
- Review contractors claims or disputed work and advise senior management as to appropriate action. Compile contract and project documentation necessary for adjudicating or denying such claims
- Work with the estimating and project team to buyout the Construction Trades.
- Review and comment on scopes and bid proposals
- Create and manage project budgets using Procore and Excel
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture
- 5 years of full-time experience as a technical specialist in one or more construction and design related fields
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing all phases of construction work
- Must be proficient in typical construction project software including MS Office, Project, Blue Beam and Procore
Must possess unquestionable personal integrity and a superior reputation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
