The Role This opportunity is a part of our MBA/Master's level early talent Analyst Development Program. In this program, you will rotate across our Growth and Value teams within our Kansas City Headquarters for typically 12-24 months. Research Analysts support the senior investment managers as an integral part of the team, providing technical support, researching prospective stocks and supervising current portfolio holdings, recommending purchases and sales, etc. After rotating within our Analyst Development Program and further refining their skills and experience as an Analyst, our Investment Research Analysts will then go on to permanently join either a Growth or Value discipline team as a part of their long-term career trajectory within the firm, based upon their success in the program and their investment philosophy preferences when being matched with a team. Key responsibilities include: Research individual securities and industry groups for the purpose of recommending purchase, sale, or holding of the securities. Fundamental ("bottom-up") analysis of individual companies includes, but is not limited to: reading company documents, interacting with company management, synthesizing "street" research and building independent company models. Support senior teammates in fundamental research Maintain industry and/or company statistics that supplement the in-house database. Develop detailed understanding and knowledge of primarily large and mid-cap stocks. Attend investment conferences and company presentations. We seek financial professionals with the following skills: Highly motivated, intelligent self-starter with the ability to work independently and as a member of the team and able to resolve priorities, plan, organize, and follow-through on assignments. Willing to internalize and implement American Century's disciplined investment process. Experienced at building and enhancing financial models Ability to coordinate, plan, prioritize and complete tasks and assignments with conflicting deadlines with consistent, high quality output Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written form with high accuracy and attention to detail. Open-minded, logical, driven, and highly ethical along with creativity, intellectual curiosity, and strong fundamental skills. Breadth of knowledge and interest should be suitable for covering multiple sectors. Strong investment research and analysis skills are required. Required: Currently pursuing an MBA/Master's in a relevant field (Quantitative/Qualitative Financial programs) Undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance or a quantitative science required 1-5 years’ experience in broad-based, fundamental "bottom-up" company analysis and equity research with a buy-side institution Strong understanding of growth-oriented investment concepts and issues High degree of proficiency in MS Excel, Bloomberg and Adobe Coverage of both US and non-US equities preferred CFA designation preferred Proficiency in multiple languages preferred Location/Workplace: This role will be based in Kansas City, MO out of our Headquarters (non-flexible).
