American Century Investments is searching for an Investment Operations Middle Office Manager with network and markets experience to support all functions of global markets, including but not limited to responsibility for market due diligence, leading complex securities and markets deployment,  risk identification, procedure enhancements/controls, timely and accurate documentation, and professional communication to portfolio management and custodian. This role is also critical in managing the team responsible for system set up and configuration/readiness for markets and portfolios.

What will our next outstanding Manager do?

• You will monitor and assess the impact of significant changes in markets and take appropriate actions. This will include notification to Investment Management.
• You will be responsible for leading the team on successful security and currency account maintenance and onboarding, market documentation, research and review of new account, markets and custodian setup.
• You will lead the complex securities and markets onboarding, setup and readiness for Middle Office, including overseeing the implementation of the required documentation
• You will ensure your team has the internal systems and workflow set up to effectively support markets.
• You will ensure appropriate controls are in place, driving operational improvements and maintaining documentation.
• You will build and maintain relationships with brokers, banks and other related counterparties.
• You will actively monitor for changes in markets, which could impact trade life cycle, documentation, taxation, etc.
• You will maintain knowledge of market specific processes and develop the team’s knowledge to be effective in their roles.
• You will effectively engage with internal business partners and clients.
• You will maintain ongoing relationship with counterparties (i.e. Custodians, Brokers)  and escalate appropriately to drive timely results.
• You will lead and coach your team to ensure expectations are known, communicated and met.
• You will independently research complex issues and contribute to special projects/performing unique functions with minimal direction from manager.
• You will work closely with other teams within Investment Operations to ensure successful product, investment vehicle, fund and account launches.

• Previous global Middle Office with a custodian or asset manager with a focus on counterparty relationship management

Notable Conditions:

• You will be an integral member of this team. As such, it is imperative that appropriate coverage of your primary responsibilities is arranged before scheduled paid time off (PTO) can be approved.
