Hiring Manager Summary: Technical Services Specialist (Network Operations Center) is responsible to fully support the batch processing for CUNA Mutual Group's Windows and Mainframe jobs and schedules. The daily duties include: monitoring batch processing flows, resolving errors following incident and problem management processes, and supporting daily change activities including creating, modifying and deleting batch jobs. The technical services specialist must be a team player, possess excellent communication skills, and prioritize issues that need immediate attention. Job Purpose: Under the direction of Technical Services Management and the advanced levels of the professional staff, provide limited technical support to our customers, relative to the coding, maintaining, installing, testing and monitoring of software packages, utility programs and job control language within the assigned computer system(s software products. Must be available to work any shift, weekends or holidays as the situation dictates. Job Responsibilities: 1. Code, compile, test, and implement programs and utilities relative to CUNA Mutual's computer system(s . 2. Develop awareness and knowledge of CUNA Mutual's computer system(s software packages and products. 3. Assist in the installation of software and hardware relative to CUNA Mutual's computer system(s . 4. Monitor and maintain performance of CUNA Mutual's computer system activities, products, terminal network and peripheral equipment. 5. Prepare detailed documentation for all duties and projects using the current change/problem management system. Use this documentation to keep management informed of progress of all duties and projects. 6. Prepare job control streams for Data Processing Operations to perform production jobs. 7. Maintain on-going technical assistance and support to customers of CUNA Mutual's computer system(s software packages. This includes problem determination and resolution. 8. The above statement of duties is not intended to be all inclusive and other duties will be assigned from time to time. Job Requirements: 1. BS in MIS or CS or equiv trade-off in related education and related professional work experience. 2. Proficiency in product installation/customization demonstrated in a business or academic environment within the last 3 years in at least 1 of the following: Mainframe, Midrange, Windows Systems Storage Management Tools Source Code Management Tools Mainframe, Midrange, Windows Performance Monitoring Packages Change/Management Products System Automation Tools Application Development Products Object Oriented application design Object Oriented database design, VB and/or VB.Net, ASP and/or ASP.Net, Web Services, XML/XSLT Image Technologies - Solution development and support Document Assembly Technologies - Solution development and support E-mail Office Automation Tools Database Design & Administration 3. Demonstrated knowledge of at least 2 information technology concepts including: Infrastructure Technology Lifecycle Infrastructure Technology Information Library(ITIL) Problem Resolution Vendor Packages within CMG Architecture Networking Messaging Systems Desktop and Server Platforms Relational Database Management Systems 4. Proven ability to clearly and effectively communicate business and technical information both verbally and in writing. 5. Proven ability to provide a high level of customer service. Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.
