What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Advisor position at CMI-TECO?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Service Advisor coordinates services and repairs. They help address vehicle performance issues for customers and draft service cost estimates that carefully detail fees for supplies, materials, and time/labor. Service advisors also field customer complaints and offer cost savings or discounts when appropriate. Assist with closing other repair orders as needed. Answer incoming service phone calls. Maintain product knowledge as the Liaison between the Service Department and the customer.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
- Greet the customer and gather information to determine what service they are in need of
- Review and verify vehicle warranty protections and service contract coverage when developing cost estimates, work orders, and other paperwork related to necessary repairs
- Schedule appointments for service technicians
- Resolve customer complaints and make follow-up calls to facilitate a positive service center experience
- Manage all paperwork, including repair orders, invoices, and maintenance records
- Other duties as assigned
- Experience successfully maintaining a positive attitude while working in a team environment with competing priorities
- Strong computer skills and highly proficient in MS Office Suite, Windows, Customer Management Software..
- Ability to think critically, in the assessment of materials that will help team understand new concepts and procedures
- Outstanding organization and administrative accountability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and create documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and written correspondence
- Attend and participate in internal meetings and complete required trainings
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- GED or High School Diploma required
- Current State Driver’s License & Clean Driving Record
- Experience working with team members across multiple functional roles
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking
- Ability to work in enclosed environments exposed to excessive noise, diesel shop environment, and cold or heat
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
