We’re currently seeking a highly motivated Civil Inspector located in Dallas, TX.
Required Education:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering/Technology
- Less than 2 years of experience, Associate’s Degree or Registered Professional Engineer license in Texas, required
Required Qualifications:
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in civil inspection.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Exercise tact and diplomacy while building relationships with contractors, co-workers, and key stakeholders.
- Must have excellent customer service skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the coordination and overseeing routine sampling and testing of component materials for construction projects in accordance with contract specifications.
- Review drawings and specifications of the proposed project.
- Provide daily oversight of the contractor’s quality control activities at the project location and maintain a daily log.
- Act as a liaison between the senior inspector, operations, and tenants during the project duration.
- Be able to perform quality assurance to verify actual contracted service, materials, and construction.
- Coordinate material sampling and testing including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, in-place soil compaction testing, etc.
- Communicate with contractors about any unacceptable materials or work.
- Be able to provide technical guidance regarding construction matters to project stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate project records, including as-built drawings.
- Verify quantities for contractors’ monthly pay estimates.
- Must be able to interpret construction plans, details, standards, and specifications.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Salary:
- Salary will commence upon experience.
Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management’s discretion.
