Position Description
Administrative Assistant for Education and Youth
Purpose
To assist with administrative duties in four areas: 1) Commissioned Ministers; 2) Education &
Youth Programs; 3) Hospitality; and 3) Communication
Reporting Requirements
The Administrative Assistant for Education and Youth will report to the Operations Executive.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A Christian with a passion for service in Christian ministries
- Strong relational and communication skills
- High degree of objectivity and confidentiality
- Knowledge and skills in the use of technology adequate to perform necessary job responsibilities, including database management, document creation, email and calendar maintenance (Outlook, Word, Excel, FileMaker Pro, Zoom, Google Apps)
- Knowledge and comfort in using social media platforms
- Personable with willingness to work with others in a collaborative environment
- Detail oriented, accurate, disciplined, confidential, and efficient in the maintenance of records and databases
- Punctual, helpful, creative, and perceptive
- Experience working in an office setting
- College Education preferred
Work Pool
The Administrative Assistant for Education and Youth will be a part of a Work Pool with other administrative support staff to cover or assist as needed with events or projects as directed by the Operations Executive.
Commissioned Ministers
- Maintain organizational database of workers, congregations, and schools
- Maintain District commissioned minister roster files, databases, and reporting processes for Synod Rosters and Statistics
- Maintain education ministry files and directories
- Assist with Call documents, background check information, and installation processing of commissioned workers
- Perform other duties as directed
Schools & Youth
- Serve as additional administrative support for the school ministry and youth committees as needed by the Education Executive
- Perform administrative tasks including: contact lists, email accounts, District events calendar
- Assist with planning and registration for school and youth meetings, conferences, trainings, and retreats
- Perform other duties as needed
Hospitality
- Perform the function as the main District Office receptionist, welcoming visitors, answering calls, managing emails from the CNH email account, and sorting/disbursing mail
- Maintain the District Office room reservations and schedule
Communication
The Administrative Assistant for Education & Youth will help assist with:
- Communication Planning and scheduling
- Editing communication materials including articles, letters, emails and presentations for
District use.
- Identifying communication needs and considerations for new programs, initiatives, and special events.
Salary and Benefits
Depending on experience and education, the salary range for this position is between $21 - $30 an hour. Health and Retirement Benefits are available for this position.
