We are currently seeking a Logistics Engineer to join our team in Racine, WI. In this role, you will be recognized for your logistics and process knowledge. Identify, initiate and deliver efficiency improvements in material handling functions throughout plant. You will lead Kaizens and Continuous Improvement activities in support of both machining and assembly operations in a plant that builds off-road vehicles (Tractors), as well as, a variety of component assembly parts that are supplied to internal stakeholder domestic and international manufacturing plants. The Logistics Engineer will create, review and audit logistics standards for material handling operators to ensure fair and balanced workloads that enable the highest customer quality. This team member will work collaboratively with contractors, vendors and suppliers to implement a lean logistics flow throughout 600,000 square feet at our Racine, WI manufacturing production operations space, plus an additional 400,000 square feet of adjacent warehouse facility.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to delivery safety, quality and delivery daily production goals effectively using people and equipment resources.
- Coordinates with Planning to adhere to production schedules and aligns staff and work schedules to meet the needs of internal and external customers. Works with Planning to revise production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems such as part shortages or machine down situations.
- Utilizes data to recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or associates.
- Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs in order to meet marketplace demand. Follows established procedures to drive safety and continuous improvement in the plant's CNC machining production processes.
- Coordinate with other departments on daily scheduling and prioritization of grey-iron machining and fabrication production.
The annual salary for this role is $62,000-90,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, Logistics/Supply Chain or other closely related technical field of study
- 3 years of Manufacturing OR Logistics Engineering experience within a manufacturing setting
- OR Associates with 6 years of Manufacturing OR Logistics Engineering experience within a manufacturing setting
The ideal candidate will have:
- Ability to demonstrate in-depth problem solving skills, including delivering safety, quality, delivering and cost results using continuous improvement/lean tools and process methodologies
- Strong attention to detail and collaborative communication skills required to engage employees at all levels of the organization
