Job Title: Sonographer
Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Performs patient-specific duties in the area of fertility, specializing in obtaining ultrasound images used for patient treatment and diagnosis. Responsibilities also include completing scans effectively and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Required Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1) Perform ultrasound diagnostic procedures in accordance with the physician protocol.
2) Educate patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation while achieving optimal results.
3) Follow prescribed safety standards while operating equipment.
4) Maintain ultrasound equipment in appropriate operating condition.
5) Examination of rooms and work areas to ensure proper presentation.
6) Ability to successfully multi- task, excellent organization and time management.
7) Ability to interact with physicians, staff and patients.

Education/Experience:
Associates degree required. Minimum one year of sonography experience. Fertility experience preferred.
Certificates and Licenses:
ARDMS (or equivalent) required
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
Medical Terminology
Fertility experience preferred.
Obtain measurements and perform calculations to evaluate results.
