What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT Assistant position at CO-OP?
The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for the implementation of physical therapy programs that do not require the supervision of a registered Physical Therapist, to people with developmental disabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
Ability to comprehend and write English at traditional Grade 12 level.
Physical capabilities required to perform direct service duties.
Possession of a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and an agreement to use one’s personal vehicle for business purposes if so required.
One year’s experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI), Sexual Offender Record Information (SORI), and Fingerprint check.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Ensure that services are meaningful to people’s interests, needs and status as adults and delivered in a dignified and safe manner.
Implement procedures for assessing participants’ strengths, interests, competencies, and needs with provisions for on-going reviews to ensure relevancy and a dignified process.
Whenever possible, apply people’s interests, strengths, and competencies relative to presence/participation in community environments.
Assist in the development of ISP goals and objectives
Participate as a member of the ISP Team and in person-centered planning.
Assist in the development of 1:1 and group programs across various settings, including community, in accordance with ISP goals, objectives and behavior plans.
Implement and monitor all physical therapy programs as assigned by the RPT and/or the Program Manager.
Complete and submit required documentation, including daily data, monthly and quarterly progress notes, weekly summary/schedules, and meeting minutes to RPT and Program Managers.
Participate in regularly scheduled supervisory meetings.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and assist in the development and implementation of individual service plans based on needs and learning styles.
Attend Inservice trainings/seminars as required/applicable.
Assist the Program Managers in providing relevant training to staff for consistent carryover of programs.
Perform all duties in conformance to and/or in recognition of Agency philosophy, policies and procedures.
Keep Program Manager abreast of latest trends in the field and programmatic changes, developments, and issues.
